As a maintained local authority school, Greenvale uses the 2018 Croydon Scheme of Work to teach the RE curriculum.  Children enjoy and appreciate learning about different religions, making comparisons between these and sharing their own views during lessons.  We believe that RE plays an important part in children being able to express themselves and allows children to see not just the differences between religions but the many themes that they have in common.

The school benefits from close links with local organisations, including St John’s Church, Selsdon Baptist Church, New Addington Methodist Church and Kidz Klub who come into school to deliver themed assemblies based on the school values.  The school takes opportunities to celebrate the diversity within our community, noting different religious festivals that take place throughout the year.  The children are also provided with the opportunity to share their faith and traditions with the school during themed assemblies.
